Population ageing is a phenomenon that concerns all EU countries. This phenomenon comes from declining fertility rates as well as rising life expectancy and gains importance over the last years. As a result, EU countries are inhabited by a large amount of seniors who because of experiencing various difficulties of everyday life need appropriate care. The problem goes hand in hand with the loosening of family ties and lack of family support and consequently there is a demand for caregivers who can provide professional care for seniors in their own country as well as abroad.
