positive attitudes

Introduction

This course is designed to train positive attitude. When looking at the aforementioned areas of services for the seniors and the different scenarios, positive attitude was included as one of the most important competences for professional senior’s caregivers.

Competencies are skills that an individual has mastered in life and/or at work to perform tasks more easily and better. An increasingly important competence, especially in the care of seniors, is a positive attitude. Like many competencies, a positive attitude can only be observed directly when interacting with people, situations, and during the work.

For everyone who works with seniors, this competence, therefore, represents three levels of positive attitude:

  • to the senior;
  • to their family members;
  • to yourself.

Competence positive attitude is of great importance because it is not only aimed at the relationship with the senior person but also at the caregiver himself, his care for himself. A caregiver who is in harmony with himself will thus more easily transfer care and, with it, positivism to another person.

Studies show that positive people can experience longer life spans, lower levels of depression, lower stress levels, greater resistance to colds, better overall well-being, lower risk of death from cardiovascular disease, and better coping and stress management skills. It seems that people with a positive attitude simply live longer, happier, healthier, more successful and…who doesn’t want that.

Proceeding from the above, if we work on our own positive attitude and achieve it as much as possible in the senior we care for, we have done the most that we can imagine or want.
