Informal most popular educational paths:
- Courses for carers of the elderly – various organisations offer many courses, including the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Cyprus.
- Nursing studies – Nursing studies in Cyprus offer a solid foundation of knowledge about healthcare, which can be useful for those interested in working as a caregiver for the elderly. These studies also offer hands-on grooming training, giving you valuable hands-on experience.
- Elderly Care Certifications – Various organizations offer certificates that prove eldercare qualifications. Typically, these certifications require you to complete several courses in grooming, health and safety, and communication.
- personal care specialists – qualifications to work in nursing homes – HEI or ATEI or TEI or IEK or TEE degrees or other educational organizations in fields related to the mission of S.Y.D. (e.g. social workers, nurses, social workers, superiors – carers of the disabled, etc.). Persons who do not have the above education, but have performed any professional activity related to the S.Y.D. mission, may be selected as members of the Support Staff.

The term “Carer” means any person who will provide care in a small dwelling for up to five people (including family members) over the age of eighteen who, because of disability, advanced age or any other cause or circumstances, require care and treatment.
